Summer Whimsy Table X 2

SUMMER
WHIMSY TABLE X 2

I have not posted in so long that I may have forgot how. Hope it is like riding a bike you never forget.

I did not want to miss Cuisine Kathleen challenge for a summer whimsy table. So I decided this morning to set my table on my deck. Of course it was Texas blazing hot even in the morning. I couldn't even come in and cool off as our air conditioner decide to only blow hot air. Our favorite friendly air conditioner twin repairmen is here now. Yes he and his twin and father have a air conditioner company and I think we have them on speed dial. Always glad that they wear shirts that have there name embroidery on them as I can't ever tell them apart. How did I ever survive  with a swamp cooler in Texas!!

Oh!!! guess I better get to my Table Scape

I searched the house and
did not buy one thing.
Table is set for two maybe we will
enjoy supper when it gets cooler.
The table cloth was a Home Goods find
again I shopped the house.
Plates which have four
patterns were purchased
at Stein Mart several years ago.
Glasses got them at Wal Mart
at least 6 years ago.

Love the little metal chair candle holders,
can always find fun things at DG.

Buffet Serving area-----Cabinets we removed
from my living area when we moved in.

Just a quick Whimsy table had fun
on a spur of the moment
 Thanks Kathleen for the challenge

Yes that is a golf course that
 you see in the background.
Sure was glad that the golfers were
hitting the fairway and not my deck.

Special Guest Table Scape

Now for the 2nd table!!!
My junking buddy put a cute summer table
together that I want to share.

Table on her deck!
Same set up with a little change
but she moved
inside to her dinning table

 Love the bright colors.
Tablecloth is a vintage buy from eBay.
 Daisy glasses great find at
 a local antique shop.
White daisy plate GW & napkin rings Fitz & Floyd
on line outlet shop.
Chargers and place mates or from Pier One.
Got to get this girl blogging!

We are Junking/Shopping partners and do like the same things
which gets us in trouble sometime.

Hope you have enjoyed our

  1. Cute tables, Cathy...love all the vibrant colors, especially your tablecloth and those cute plates...big bold bouquets tell me it is summertime! Love your friend's napkin rings...anything with chickens/roosters gets 2 thumbs up from me.
My friend that I shop with isn't interested in dishes, but she does point the good ones out to me!
    Have a wonderful week.

  2. Hi, Cathy! I'm sure living right on the cusp of a golf course has its challenges as well as its good times. I'm glad the golfers are straight shooters so that you're not having to dodge golf balls all summer!

Your tablecloth is so pretty! What is it with you guys going to Home Goods and finding great tablecloths all the time? I find all kinds of other terrific stuff there, but I have yet to find a tablecloth that is this pretty. All of the colors in it really provide an opportunity to complement it in whatever way you wish. I like how you used the multi-color Gerber daisies.

I think this is a wonderful table for two people. Very cozy, very intimate. Great for whispering sweet nothings across the table with your sweetheart or for dishing in confidence with a girlfriend!

What a great use of a cabinet unit!!! It makes perfect sense to me, and I'm sure it provides much needed storage as well as countertop space for preparing or staging outdoor meals!

Your friend did a nice job with her table, too. I wonder why she isn't blogging? She'd be a natural.

Have a wonderful weekend, and keep an eye to the sky for those errant golf balls! :-)

    1. Thanks Aycia,
The table cloth is an umbrella cloth with zipper second year to use and really has not faded.
When we moved here I had all kinds of clay pots, I now only have look a like clay pots as they all have been broken, plus we have had several near hits our selves. Thanks for all the nice comments. Working on my friend to blog, may see her soon. She is a natural.
      Cathy <;)

  3. Both of these tables are fun and pretty! I like to shop my house, too, as I decorate. I have a lot of family heirlooms from both of our families and love to reminisce as I decorate. How lucky you have a girlfriend who likes to shop and junk together! Enjoy your weekend.
